Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, Velina Iantcheva discovered her passion for swing dancing in 2014, starting with boogie woogie. It quickly led her to festivals across Europe, where she reached multiple finals and earned several wins in social dance competitions. She also competed in boogie woogie dancesport, placing second at the Austrian Championship and representing Austria at international World Cups.
Over the years, Velina has expanded into solo jazz, lindy hop, and more recently shag and balboa. Deeply rooted in the social dance scene, Velina values connection, musicality, and the shared energy that defines swing communities. For her, swing dance is both a competitive pursuit and a living, evolving social art form.
Anna first started swing dancing in 2020. She fell in love with the freedom and expressiveness of jazz music and the rich history of authentic jazz dance. She loves social dancing to live music as well as creating performance pieces for the stage. Since moving to Stuttgart in 2023, she has presented her original choreography at several local swing dance events as well as in Strasbourg and Karlsruhe.
Anna and Velina will present a Solo Jazz showcase.
Swing dance is an African American art form.
