BIO:
Roddy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education / Sport Sciences from
São Paulo State University (UNESP) and works as a dancer, teacher,
choreographer, and artistic director. His work is grounded in the
contextualization of urban dance styles, integrating movement research, body
intelligence, experimentation, and aesthetic production.
His career includes artistic engagements at five-star hotels along the Egyptian
coast, where he worked both as a choreographer and performer, as well as
performances at the Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and at
the EHF Champions League FINAL4 2025. He was the Artistic Director of the
New York City Dance School’s 50th anniversary production and contributed
choreography to the show. He is a UDO Crew Battle Germany champion and
has received multiple awards at major dance events in Brazil.
He has collaborated with various artists, performing in and choreographing for
music video productions, while also developing an international presence in
countries such as Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and Austria. In Brazil, he was
a featured speaker and teacher at the National Congress of Education, further
expanding his engagement in the educational field.
He currently teaches at the Professional Dance Academy (PDA) and at the New
York City Dance School – Stuttgart (NYCDS).
ABOUT THE CLASS:
Urban Latin blends street dance styles with Latin influences, applying technical
foundations to performance. Musicality, intention, texture, and movement
quality are explored to develop control, expression, and identity in motion.
